Symptoms

In Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS), an ORA error is displayed when the user is searching for an order ([ordfind] form) using a Rejection Reason which has a description length greater than 30 characters.

Error: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error


Steps to Recreate:

  1. Open [ordfind] form
  2. Select View Order
  3. Search by a Rejection Reason which has length of the description greater than 30.  For example: 'Reason UOM - UOM convert error due to duplicate data'
  4. Notice error ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
