Updating Transient Property with Distributed Cache Mode Causes Unnecessary Cache Invalidation Message
Last updated on AUGUST 29, 2016
Applies to:Oracle Commerce Platform - Version 126.96.36.199.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Updating a transient property will trigger cache invalidation message if the item of this property has cache mode set to any one of the distributed cache modes including distributed, distributedJMS, distributedHybrid, distributedExternal. However, such cache invalidation messages upon transient property's update is unnecessary because cache invalidation only refreshes persistent properties but will not affect transient properties. Such redundant messages cause a lot of unnecessary network traffic and degrade application overall performance.
