Symptoms

Actual Behavior

Approvers do not receive Change reject notification email of Event Notification configured for ECR

Expected Behavior

Approvers to receive Change reject notification email of Event Notification configured for ECR


What is Working

Originator can receive the reject email notification of Event Notification configured for ECR
Approvers can receive the reject email notification when default Change Requests - ECR Promotion Failure, Reject is used
Approvers can receive Change reject notification email of Event Notification configured for ECO



Steps to Reproduce

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to Java Client as admin user
  2. Enable ECR subclass
  3. Configure Workflow ECR-Workflow with below status:
    Pending -> Review -> Completed
  4. On review status, set [If Rejected, Notify] to: $ORIGINATOR;$APPROVER, and set three default approvers
  5. Goto Admin tab > Settings > System Settings > Notifications
  6. Create New, and give name: NotifyApproverAfterRejectECR, and select Object Type: ECR, and enable
  7. In the Notification settings, create a event-based notification for reject workflow, [TO] attribute is set to: $ORIGINATOR;$APPROVER
  8. Goto Admin tab > Settings > System Settings > Event Management > Events
  9. Create New, and create event with below settings:
    Event Type: Reject for Workflow
    Name: RejectECR
    Enabled: Yes
    Workflow: ECR-Workflow
    Object Type: ECR
  10. Goto Admin tab > Settings > System Settings > Event Management > Event Subscriber
  11. Create New, and create Event Handler with below settings:
    Name: RejectECR-Subscriber
    Event Handler: NotifyApproverAfterRejectECR
    Enabled: Yes
    Trigger Type: Post
    Execution Mode: Asynchronous
  12. Login to Web Client, create ECR using ECR-Workflow
  13. Route ECR to Review status
  14. Login as approver, and reject the ECR
  15. Check inbox as approver. Do not see notification of ECR rejection
  16. Check inbox as originator. Do see notification of ECR rejection
