Running Workbench Behind Proxy with HTTPS Enabled (Doc ID 2111142.1)

Last updated on MARCH 03, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Guided Search / Oracle Commerce Experience Manager - Version 3.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Is it possible to have a load balancer or Proxy in front of Workbench or use Virtual IP for Workbench?

Ideally would like to have end-users access HTTPS on Traffic Director (ie https://{traffic_director}/workbench) that routes all traffic to the Workbench URL (ie http://<HOST>:8006)/), and all responses back from Workbench to the end-user would then use the address from Traffic Director.

EXAMPLE

https://{traffic_director}/workbench/ifcr
https://{traffic_director}/workbench/login
https://{traffic_director}/workbench/discover
https://{traffic_director}/workbench/preview

Also is the use of mix https/http supported?

EXAMPLE

browser <-[HTTPS]-> load-balancer/proxy <-[HTTP]-> workbench* <-[HTTP]-> CAS
