Goal

Oracle Argus Safety Version 7.0.5

Noted that some special characters are allowed and some are not allowed as file names.

For instance, users can save a file with any of these characters “~_`_!@$%^&()-=+{}[]';.” in the filename and then attach the file to an Argus case successfully.

However, when save a file with a “®” sign in it, Argus will error out when trying to attach the file to a case.

The same scenario for Japan characters, Saving a file with this text “このファイル名は、非常に長いですし、これは単なるミドルウェア層内の特殊文字のサポートを検証するためのテストの目的であります” and tying to import the file into argus is failing.

Question is 2 folded:

1. what special characters are allowed

and

2. will allow Argus to attach the file and is it language specific?
