RMS to ORPOS Interface: Need the Ability to Escape Special Characters in XML File (Doc ID 2115068.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 27, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 13.2 to 13.2.8 [Release 13.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

ItemImport, StoreOrgHier, and MerchandiseHier files have an item description with a special character such as '&','<',">' etc.

This causes the XML parser to fail and prevents the data being imported in to the Oracle Retail Point-of-Service (ORPOS) application.

Steps to Recreate:

  1.  Create a coupon having special characters (like @,$,&) in the coupon description.
  2.  Ensure that there are entries in tables POS_COUPON_HEAD and  POS_STORE.
  3.  Run batch_orpos_extract.ksh batch.
  4.  Note that the coupon file generated has an XML parsing error.
