RMS to ORPOS Interface: Need the Ability to Escape Special Characters in XML File
Last updated on MARCH 16, 2017
Applies to:Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 13.2 to 13.2.8 [Release 13.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
ItemImport, StoreOrgHier, and MerchandiseHier files have an item description with a special character such as '&','<',">' etc. This causes the XML parser to fail and prevents the data being imported in to the Oracle Retail Point-of-Service (ORPOS) application.
Steps to Recreate:
- Create a coupon having special characters (like @,$,&) in the coupon description.
- Ensure that there are entries in tables POS_COUPON_HEAD and POS_STORE.
- Run batch_orpos_extract.ksh batch.
- Note that the coupon file generated has an XML parsing error.
