P6 Professional is Unable to Connect to the Primavera Contractor Database (Doc ID 2117223.1)

Primavera Contractor - Version 6.1 and later

Symptoms

On : 15.2.0.0 version, P6 PPM DB Install, Setup, Config Tools

When attempting to log P6 into a Primavera Contractor database
the following errors occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
Unable to connect to the database, would you like to configure the database connection now.

Or
The application and database versions do not match. Click Exit to close the application.
Primavera P6 Professional R15.2
Expected database version: PMDB,1520.0001.0001
Current database version: PMDB,0601.0011.0001

 


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Install Primavera Contractor with MS EXPRESS 2005 database
2. In stall P6 Professional configured to connect the the Primavera Contractor database.
3. Attempt to log into P6 Professional will through on of the errors listed above

Due to this issue, users cannot Log into P6 connecting to a Primavera Contractor
