A New UserGroup Gets Created And Assigned When A User Logs Into Endeca Information Discovery Studio Integrated With A LDAP System
Last updated on JUNE 29, 2016
Applies to:Oracle Endeca Information Discovery Studio - Version 3.1.0 to 3.1.0 [Release 3.x]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
On : 3.1.0 version, Studio Functionality
In Control Panel Portal Settings Authentication LDAP Connection, Users and Groups sections are defined properly and Test LDAP Connection, Test LDAP Users and Test LDAP Groups buttons return proper results.
But every time a user logs into Endeca Studio a new UserGroup with default permission is created under UserGroup and user is assigned only to this new group.
The user is not duplicated, however the UserGroup is and the assignment is existed only with the last auto created UserGroup.
When a user logs into the Studio, the Endeca Studio should not create a new UserGroup if the Studio is integrated with LDAP.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Setup Studio Integration with LDAP as detailed in Studio documentation:
2. Test LDAP connection, users and groups.
3. If above tests are successful, then login with any normal user credentials.
A new UserGroup gets created with the exact same name and default permissions, besides the existing one created when Users and Groups were imported from LDAP.
