UIM UI Login Page is not Usable after Invalid Credentials Supplied (Doc ID 2119277.1)

Using Internet Explorer, if one tries to login to UIM UI with invalid credentials, an error popup appears with the following message: "This page requires XMLHTTP support, please enable XMLHTTP support in your browser.":

Upon clicking OK, the login page becomes unusable until one refreshes the page. If any credentials are entered, nothing will occur when clicking the "Login" button until a page refresh is done. This should not occur.

Symptoms
