Rounding Causes Out of Balance Condition in ReSA (Doc ID 2119360.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 07, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Sales Audit - Version 14.0.3 to 14.0.4 [Release 14.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle Retail Sales Audit  (ReSA), rounding of values causes an 'out of balance' condition.

The RTLOG field for unit discount amount on the IDISC record allows 4 decimal places. When we calculate the discount amount across the items within the transaction, we use all 4 decimal places. It appears as though the base Retail Sales Audit (ReSA) import program is only using 2 decimal places to calculate the Sales Total (this is compared against Tender Total).  The rounding to 2 decimal places is causing a variance of 1 pence.  Analysis has been done and confirmed that if all 4 decimal places were used, the transaction would be in balance.
