Mshttpd & Authentication Only By Mail Attribute (Doc ID 2122681.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 31, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.5 and later
Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 3.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Some users, in the same default domain, have the user ID of another user in their email address.  For example:

User A:  uid=userA and mail=<USERNAME@DOMAIN>
User B:  uid=userB and mail=userA@<DOMAIN>  --->email has User A's UID.

After configuring Convergence to authenticate users with only the mail attribute (by setting ugldap.ugfilter = (mail=%o) and if inetDomainSearchFilter is not set),
User B is able to log in with his mail attribute (userA@<DOMAIN>).  But, once mshttpd is restarted, User B can no longer log in using his mail attribute.
