ORPOS Unable to Generate RTLOG for Bill Pay Transaction: Value 'longer than the expected length' Error Occurs

Symptoms

In Oracle Retail Point of Service (ORPOS), we are unable to generate the RTLOG for a Bill Pay Transaction for which the customer name exceeds 30 characters in length.  The process fails with the below error:

 

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. In BillPaySimulatorConfig.xml, modify the first name and last name as below (e.g., last name is greater than 30 characters):

      <firstName>asdfasdfasdfasdf</firstName>
      <lastName>asdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf</lastName>

  2. Perform a simple bill payment .

RTLog is not generated . As a result of this issue, transaction is not successfully passed to Oracle Retail Sales Audit (ReSA).
