Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When installing RMS 15.0 Forms

The install guide contains the following patch:

Patch 20836354: FR 11.1.2.2 PREREQ CHECK FAILED ON ORACLE LINUX 7 X86-64BIT OS
Forms do not Compile on Oracle Linux 7, after successful installation of Forms 11.1.2.2 on Oracle Linux 7 as the new version of motif library libXm.so.3 is not available on Oracle Linux 7. As a solution, a sym link with older version of motif library must be made as below:
'ln -s /usr/lib64/libXm.so.4.0.4 libXm.so.3'

On a totally new Linux 7 build the library /usr/lib64/libXm.so.4.0.4 libXm.so.3 does not exist, so client unable to create the link, installer fails with:

“[exec] /prmk/rmssbx01/oracle/Middleware/FRHome3/bin/frmcmp: error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory”

libXm.so.3 only resides in the Forms stubs directory. Creating a link to this from /usr/lib64 as recommended in MOS patch 20836354 creates the following error:

[exec] !!! WARNING !!! --> libXm-2.3.4-stub.so^@
