Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The issue described in this document is known to Oracle, and a fix already scheduled for future release. This issue is noticed in SIM versions 14.0.X ,14.1.0 and 14.1.2 and above. This note provides the solutions for both versions. Please download the correct resolution based on your SIM version. This article will be updated as official patch information becomes available.

In Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management (SIM), the ITEM table field 'is_primary' does not get updated even when UPC details in RIB message contain a 'primary_ref'.  When the message has been processed in SIM, the 'is_primary' field does not receive the correct value even though the RIB xml message provided it.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a new item Style with 1 SKU and corresponding UPC : style item : item parent SKU: SKU item and UPCs: upc item
  2. Approve all at once
  3. Notice that for the UPC, the value from primary_ref_item_id from ITEM_MASTER is set to Y
  4. Notice that the RIB message sent from RMS <ns1:primary_ref_item_ind>Y
  5. Once the message is processed in SIM, check the value for 'is_primary' in the ITEM table.  Notice that there is no value.
