MDS Is Not Considering the Demand Class for Sales Orders (Doc ID 2129164.1)

Last updated on JUNE 28, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Materials Requirement Planning - Version 12.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 12.2.5 version, Master Demand Schedule

Not able to perform MRP based on demand class for Sales Orders (Make to Order).  After Load/Copy/Merge MDS is run, the MDS shows ALL sales orders, and the subsequent MRP run includes all sales orders.

Expect the MDS and resulting MRP run to only consider those sales orders associated with the Demand Class.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create a Demand Class
2. Create a Sales Order and specify the Demand Class in the line.
3. Navigate to Material Planner > MDS > Names and create an MDS Name and select the Demand Class
4. Run the program Load/Copy/Merge for the created MDS Name
5. Run MRP Plan and review the Demand and notice that other sales orders which do not have the specified demand class were also considered. Hence, not able to plan for the specific sales order only.
