Scaling Iteration Limit Reached When Item/Location Max Scale Value Is Lower Than Supplier Minimum Limit (Doc ID 2141624.1)

Symptoms

When Item/Supplier scaling is enabled and Max Scale Value is lower than Supplier Minimum Scaling value, scaling process cannot find a proper solution and an error is logged by the process:


Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Set up supplier scaling parameters as follows:
    1. Scaling Objective - Minimum
    2. Scaling Level - Order Level
    3. Scaling Constraint Primary - Each
    4. Max Value X
    5. Min Value Y
  2. Create a new item and its replenishment attributes. 
  3. Set up Except From Scaling - No
  4. Max Scale amount - Z
  5. Run replenishment batches
  6. Check order form for resulting order and select “Apply Process” -> “Scale Order”
  7. Notice that scaling error appears.
