Receiving Transaction Records Are Written to TRAN_DATA Table Even If the Transaction Fails

(Doc ID 2144384.1)

Last updated on JUNE 03, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 13.2.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS), there are cases in which a receiving transaction fails.  Even if  the transaction fails processing, the records are saved in TRAN_DATA table.  This results in some transactions having duplicate rows.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a transfer.
  2. Ship the transfer via an ASNOUTCRE message.
  3. Make sure the ITEM_LOC_SOH record for one of the items is locked.
  4. Receive via a RECEIPTCRE message.
  5. Query the database and notice that there are records for the respective transaction in TRAN_DATA table for the locked item, even though the transaction itself failed.
