Design Studio Fails To Clone ASAP Cartridge Project (Use a Cartridge As a Base To Create a New Cartridge) (Doc ID 2144831.1)

Last updated on MARCH 27, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Design Studio - Version 7.2.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Clone existing cartridges to use as the base for new variants. For example, implement dynamic routing in the NE template and prepare for a new software version of the NE. Design Studio fails to update dependencies (upstream and downstream) when copy an existing cartridge (CISCO-BACC) to a new name using a new software version. The copy appears to work but the build fails.

Import ASAP projects into Design Studio, run build to verify no errors. Select Studio Design perspective, right click on cartridge name "CISCO-FDBACC" in left hand "Cartridge view, select copy, right click again on white space, select "paste", change name in pop-up box. Note there is no prompt about software version.

Both existing and copy of cartridge are in the same workspace.
