Symptoms
OSM 7.3.0.0.2.1966
OSM is taking more time to process a single task in extremely large order even if the task is not doing anything. The task is neither updating or retrieving any data.
Large Order consists of 865 Order Line Items.
We need to see Highest Time and lowest Time for the task SOM_CheckPONREntryPoint_Task. If you see the task is not doing any processing, still some instances of it are taking 27 seconds{see highest time}.Average time comes out to be 14 secs. If you see there are 860 instances of this task and they are taking lot of time to execute when we increase no of line items.
When we try to do a small update, the time increases a lot. And we increase the number of OLI, the time further increases.
1. Why the time to complete a task keep increasing with number of OLI although the task is not performing any activity?
2. Why the task is taking more time to complete although the task is not performing any activity?
With these issues, the large order processing is taking a performance hit.
One thing to note in this order is the number of order components. I believe the total number of order components may play a significant role in the performance issue.
