Error: "An Error Occurred While Processing Your Request" When Browsing to My Preferences, View Tab in P6 (Web)

Information in this document applies to any platform.
After selecting the "View" tab from the "My Preferences" page in P6, the following error occurs:
"An error occurred while processing your request"
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Login to P6
- Select Administer, My Preferences
- Select View tab
- Note the reported error which occurs
