Process Problem Where Telephone Numbers Become Stuck in Pending Disconnect Status (Doc ID 2162715.1)

Last updated on MARCH 11, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications MetaSolv Solution - Version 6.2.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Actual Behavior

Telephone numbers are stuck in a Pending Disconnect status which can lead to double-assignments meaning one telephone number suffix is in a status of Pending Disconnect (with no Disco Order) and its next suffix in a status of In Service. Furthermore, the telephone number suffix in Pending Disconnect appears to have been done so without a disconnect order due to the process of how the problem manifests itself through "Remove This Item" from order.

NOTE: The problem occurs for telephone numbers assigned to both Premise (Service Location) and Non-Premise (Global) products.

Expected Behavior

The application should not allow telephone numbers to be stuck in a Pending Disconnect status.

Recreation Steps

The issue can be reproduced at will using the following steps:

1. Create a new "PSR" order and copy branch telephone numbers that are In Service as depicted below

    Order Number - 1234567

             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-3-In Service- 555-555-0002 (In Service)
             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-4-In Service- 555-555-0003 (In Service)
             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-5-In Service- 555-555-0004 (In Service)
             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-6-In Service- 555-555-0005 (In Service)

2. Right click on the parent product and select Assign Telephone Numbers

3. Click the Inventory and Assign tab

4. Highlight the first half of the telephone numbers in the Assignment frame

5. Right click on the highlighted rows and select Disconnect

6. Close the Assign Telephone Numbers window and the service items appear as depicted below

    Order Number - 1234567
     |-(O) Global
         |
         |---- Wholesale Port Out TN - In Service
             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-1-In Service- 555-555-0000 (Disconnect)
             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-2-In Service- 555-555-0001 (Disconnect)
             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-3-In Service- 555-555-0002 (Disconnect)
             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-4-In Service- 555-555-0003 (In Service)
             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-5-In Service- 555-555-0004 (In Service)
             |
             |---- Local Co. Owned Port Out TN-6-In Service- 555-555-0005 (In Service)

7. Right click on the parent product and select Remove This Item

NOTE: The application allows parent products and its associated telephone numbers to be removed from the order. The telephone numbers are now stuck in a Pending Disconnect status.  This allows users to put the same In Service telephone numbers on a different order which then appear as double-assignments.
