Convergence Cannot Import Calendar Event (ics) (Doc ID 2163422.1)

Oracle Communications Calendar Server - Version 7.0 (JCS 7) to 8.0.0 [Release 7.0.0 to 8.0.0]

Symptoms

Convergence 3.0.x.x / Calendar 7.x  and 8.x

(although not tested should be applicable for other calendar clients)

Receive error in Convergence:  "The calendar data could not be imported" when try to import an ics file.

Convergence logs (no relevant info regarding the cause of import failure):

Telemetry logs indicate there is a problem with the first line in the ics file

   Error at line 1:Expected [BEGIN], read [BEGIN

To further investigate, open the ics file in a hex editor (ex: notepad++ using the hex editor plugin)
