MSO: Include Past Due In Safety Stock Does Not Work For Uncontrained Plan (Doc ID 2169395.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 27, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning - Version 12.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

MSO: Include Past Due in Safety Stock does not seem to work for unconstrained plan.

Run plan with profile set to yes and no
Do not see any difference in Safety stock calculation
Appears to use past due demand in P:0 bucket of horizontal plan for both plans

When checking DAT files we do not find the profile MSO_INCLUDE_PASTDUE_IN_SS listed in MSLD_FLAT_PROFILE_VAL.dat
and we do see profile - MSC_READ_PROFILES_FROM_DB - Y

1. Run plan with both profile settings
2. Open and save to XLS the HZ plan for both plans.
3. Run safety stock calculation to verify how the SS is calculated.

When profile = No, then the past due should not be included in the SS calculation in first bucket of the plan output

cannot use this profile to prevent SS calculation from being affected by past due demands.
