No Data Is Displaying When Exporting Listing Pages to Microsoft Excel® from Instantis EnterpriseTrack (Doc ID 2175221.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to export to Excel the contents of a page in Instantis EnterpriseTrack, the data does not appear.

STEPS to verify this issue using Excel® 2010

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Access Instantis with any user having access to export Listing pages to Excel
  2. Navigate to any page with listing of data
  3. Click on the Excel icon
  4. Select File Format, xls, Click OK
  5. Data is not displayed
  6. Select File Format, csv, Click OK
  7. The data is displayed - however due to the nature of heatmaps, this data is not organized well in csv format.

STEPS to verify this issue using Excel® 2013

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Access Instantis with any user having access to export Listing pages to Excel
  2. Navigate to any page with listing of data
  3. Click on the Excel icon
  4. Select xls OR csv
  5. When using the auto launch of the file through Instantis, or downloading the file to a folder and launching from the folder, there may or may not be a popup message "There was a problem sending the command to the program"

 NOTE: Microsoft Excel® 2007 and lower are not impacted, and Microsoft Excel® 2016 is not supported currently with Instantis EnterpriseTrack. To Navigate to this document

  • Select the version
  • Expand Installation and Upgrading
  • Select Tested Configurations
  • Save this file to the hard drive, and open Excel First, then launch the file.

 

Changes

No Changes to the Instantis EnterpriseTrack, or Instantis Hosting environment.  

However, individual or corporate computers may have been updated with Microsoft® Security Patches for Microsoft Office®.
