About OFSAA Installation In Multiple NetworkSegments Environment (Doc ID 2176046.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 10, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications Infrastructure - Version 8.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Have a question about OFSAA installation in an environment where two Network Segments exist in each server.

The role of the two Network Segments is as below:
0) A segment to connect server from client (Segment 0)
1) A segment to connect between servers each other (Segment 1)

The hostname of each server is the host name linked to Segment 0 (ap00,pr00,db00).
* If I run hostname command on each server, ap00,pr00,db00 are returned.

The role of each server is as below:

Application Server : WebLogic, OBIEE
Processing Server : OFSAA
Database Server : Oracle DB

With a configuration like the above, in order to use Segment 1 for the connection between the servers,
I am going to specify ap01,pr01,db01 which represent the hostnames of Segment 1 in the tnsnames.ora on Processing Server or in the configuration files for OFSAA installation (such as _SCHEMA_IN.XML and _InstallConfig.xml).
Is there any problem with it?

As my understanding, the host name is only for name resolution,
therefore it should be no problem to specify different hostnames (ap01,pr01,db01) from the each server’s hostnames (ap00,pr00,db00) in the OFSAA installation configuration file.
* I have setup so that the name resolution will be done using /etc/hosts or DNS without problem.

For the above, can you please confirm if it’s supported or not?
