High Availability of ECE Processes (Like BRMGateway, REF, CustomerUpdater, PricingUpdater) (Doc ID 2177533.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications BRM - Elastic Charging Engine - Version to [Release 11.3.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Scenario :

Elastic Charging Engine(ECE) has been setup on three servers Server A, Server B and Server C, each of these servers have two ecs(elastic charging server) nodes running.
Currently the customerUpdater, pricingUpdater , ratedEventFormatter(REF) and BRMGateway(BRM GW) are running in the server Server A.

Questions :

a. Is it possible to have one instance of customerUpdater, pricingUpdater , ratedEventFormatter and BRMGateway  running in each server i.e., Server A, Server B and Server C  so that if server Server A goes down, Server B and Server C can  keep the system running without any interruption. If the above is not possible how can one actually achieve uninterrupted operation in case Server A goes down

b.  Given that the above nodes might be configured as active-passive combination, is there an alternate way, reason is, Active->Passive mode requires manual interventions to start the server/process, where as requirement is that, all the time, servers should be available without any interruption.
