Acrobat Could Not Open Error When Attempting to Open PDF Files in Document Manager

When attempting to open files of type PDF from the Document Manager, the following error is thrown:
Acrobat could not open 'Filename.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
'Filename.pdf' will be replaced by the actual name of the file the user attempted to open.
In other cases, the error isn't received, but the preview window remains blank.
