Symptoms

In all versions of Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (OCNCC or NCC) and Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller (OC3C), it is possible for the smsStatsDaemon to fail to create the statistics shared memory segment in the Service Logic Execution Environment (SLEE).  As a result, all the SLEE applications which log statistics are unable to do so and throw errors every time they try.  The errors logged by the assorted applications differ per application but some examples are as follows:

m3ua_if

Oct 13 09:48:44 SLC01 m3ua_if: [ID 839465 user.notice] m3ua_if(18562) NOTICE: dt_add: Parent statistic 'SIGTRAN.TX_total' does not exist
Oct 13 09:48:44 SLC01 m3ua_if: [ID 839465 user.notice] m3ua_if(18563) NOTICE: dt_add: Parent statistic 'SIGTRAN.TX_DOWN' does not exist
ussdgw

Oct 13 09:51:04 SLC01 USSDGW: [ID 839465 user.notice] cmnError(16404) NOTICE: smsRecordStats: Statistic not found 'UIS.UIS_2'
Oct 13 09:51:04 SLC01 USSDGW: [ID 103856 user.error] USSDGW(16404) ERROR:1133:Failed to log statistic 2!
slee_acs

Oct 13 09:51:04 SLC01 slee_acs: [ID 839465 user.notice] slee_acs(16392) NOTICE: dt_add: Parent statistic 'Ccs_Service.USSD_SC_CALL' does not exist
Oct 13 09:51:04 SLC01 slee_acs: [ID 675952 user.error] slee_acs(16392) ERROR: ccsSvcLibrary: Unable to log throughput statistic (Ccs_Service,USSD_SC_CALL,"Protocol=MAP, Domain Type=UBE"), code (-1)
diameterBeClient

Oct 13 09:51:04 SLC01 diameterBeClient: [ID 839465 user.notice] diameterBeClient(16405) NOTICE: dt_add: Parent statistic 'DCD.DIAMETER_CC_TYPE_EVENT' does not exist
Oct 13 09:51:04 SLC01 diameterBeClient: [ID 839465 user.notice] diameterBeClient(16405) NOTICE: dt_add: Parent statistic 'DCD.DIAMETER_SUCCESS' does not exist

Due to this, no statistics are logged by the SLEE applications which then are not replicated up to the Service Management Server (SMS) to be viewed by the SMS Statistics Screens.
