A 'Runaway' RP Thread on one Server Causes All Servers Sharing the Same Queue to Fail

(Doc ID 2197266.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 31, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Documaker - Version 12.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 12.1 version, Docupresentment

An extra RP thread (GENDAW32.EXE) that was not attached to any of the IDS instances nor attached to the watchdog service caused all the instances not to process transactions for any library. Once the 'runaway' thread was located, the thread was killed and the transaction processing was resumed without issue. Even recycling of the Docucorp server was unnecessary. The 'runaway' thread, could only be seen through the Process Explorer.

Runaway thread should not occur and should not prevent IDS instances from working normally.

Due to this issue IDS is sometimes unavailable.
