Error “DateTime String 'N' From Record Is Unexpected Length 1” Is Logged

Symptoms
An error “DateTime string 'N' from Record is unexpected length 1” is logged when a pending field activity is completed through the C1-FACompletionByExtSystem business service.
This error is encountered if there is a FA Upload Staging maintenance extension (FA upload user exit) in the system. We created an empty custom FA Upload Staging maintenance extension to ensure that the issue is not due to customization in the user exit program. The call sequence according to the log is ;CIPZCTJN;CIPZUXGN;CIPOFSUP;CIPOASTP;CIPOFCEP. The error is encountered in the RecordToWebConverter java program line 190. We tried removing the empty custom FA Upload Staging maintenance extension and no error has occurred.
