How To List Or Get Count Of Users Going Through A Specific IM Backend? (Doc ID 2200013.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 19, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Instant Messaging Server - Version 8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When we had the mux and the server running on the same system, the mux was configured only to talk to the backend on the same system.
In that situation, the number of users connected thru that backend is the same as the number of users connected to port 5222 (the mux port) on that same system.

Now that we have each mux configured to be able to talk to any of 3 different backends
for example, on frontend imhostA.oracle.com, we have:

iim_mux.serverport=imhost1.oracle.com:5222,imhost2.oracle.com:5222,imhost3.oracle.com:5222

We have observed that the frontend will send all client connections to the first backend in the list, if it is available.
If that backend is down, it will send connections to the next one.

How can I see how many/which users are connected to a specific backend??
