Symptoms

MetaSolv Solution 6.2.1

The search capability in the Cable Search windows (w_cable_query and w_cable_query_response) accessed via Inventory Management > Cables (steps below) are limited to the fields listed below.

      Originating Location

      Terminating Location

Process Steps

1. Inventory Management

2. Cables (w_cable_query)

Process Steps

1. Inventory Management

2. Cables

3. Retrieve a cable

4. Double-click to open record

5. Right-click on folder and select "Cable Search..." (w_cable_query_response)

We would like the ability to search cable pairs outside of the CLR/DLR Design assignment process. Currently, we can only see the pairs when searching for a cable to make an assignment within Connection Design > CLR/DLR Design or searching for a cable and double-clicking to open it. We would like to retain the current cable search functionality where only the entire cable is pulled up and pair details are not visible, but would also like the ability to search by a cable and have the results show the pairs and statuses without having to open the cable; similar to the way the results are displayed in the Cable Pair Search window (w_pair_query) within the CLR/DLR Design assignment process (steps below and fields below). In addition, we would like a new field on the search to be able to enter a cable pair and search for it.

      Originating Location

      Terminating Location

Process Steps

1. Inventory Management

2. Connection Design

3. CLR/DLR Design

4. Cable Pair > Cable Pair Sets tab

5. Right-click on folder and select "Add Cable Pair Sets..."

6. Click spyglass icon to open Cable Pair Search window (w_pair_query)
