French Synonyms Are Stemmed Before Matching

(Doc ID 2201615.1)

Goal

Asking questions using any of the French locales, some search terms are matching on unwanted and incorrect concepts because the synonyms are stemmed
before matching, instead of using the synonyms as they have been entered for the concept. For example, asking "elever" results in the concept "student" to
match, which has a synonym of "eleve". However, "elever" does not stem to "eleve", but "eleve" is the 1st/3rd person singular of "elever" in the
present tense (among others). It appears that the synonym for "student" is stemmed, and then matched against the search terms, instead of using the
synonym as is.

Is this the expected functionality?
