Oracle Communications Instant Messaging: Is there a Method to Delete the Chat Room History without Restarting the Servers? (Doc ID 2202068.1)

Oracle Communications Instant Messaging Server - Version 10.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When a user joins a chat room from an Instant Messaging (IM) client, such as Messages App or Adium, and proceeds to get some history replay, the 'IMDPersistenceAgent' process on the client may start using all (100%) of the CPU. Killing that process results in it coming back after a few seconds.

Currently, the only method available to overcome this behavior is to perform a restart of services on the back-end / IM servers so as to clear the chat room history. However, this method is not feasible for obvious reasons.

Hence, there is the need to have a method to clear the chat history without having to restart the services on back-end.
