When attempting to apply a Demantra
Patch 17808535 - DEMANTRA RELEASES 7.3.X AND 12.2.X: CPU PATCH FOR JAN 2014
(SP=9000211 BUILD=2 + SP=9000211DB BUILD=2) (GA) DB CRITICAL PATCH UPDATE (SECURITY)
PatchInstaller.bat fails with the message:
'Error: Opening registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment'

Customer states the issue can be reproduced at will at customer site with the following steps:
1. Run the ...\p17808535_7315_WINNT\P9000211\Patch9000211\patchInstaller.bat
2. Observe the noted error
