Unable to Increase Shared Memory Size > 1GB in ofsrm.ini (Doc ID 2217330.1)

Last updated on APRIL 11, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Services Asset Liability Management - Version 8.0.0 to 8.0.4 [Release 8]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA)

Symptoms

For Oracle Financial Services Asset Liability Management (ALM) 8.0.x, you cannot increase the 'SharedMemory' parameter in the ofsrm.ini in $FIC_DB_HOME/conf to a value greater than 1GB.  The ALM Static Deterministic Process fails with "out of shared memory" when the configuration of SharedMemory in ofsrm.ini is 1.5 GB

If you decrease SharedMemory to a value of 1GB or lower, the ALM Process is successful.  However, you need to use a value > 1GB for optimal processing given the large quantity of Products, Currencies, and Scenarios defined.
