Error Message Translation Not recognizing Resource Bundles - ScheduledOrderHandler (Doc ID 2222172.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 30, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Platform - Version 11.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Overview

Oracle Commerce handles the translation of error messages into different languages by using resource bundles.

This entails creating a resource bundle for each error message and language. For example: ScheduleOrderError_es.properties.

There are key-value pairs in each file, mapping the error messages and their respective language specific translations.

Explanation of Resource Bundles (Java Concept):

https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/util/ResourceBundle.html

Example

A resource bundle is created for the Spanish (es) language:

ScheduleOrderError_es.properties

The application is configured such that "es" is a supported language.

An error occurs on the es-PR site, triggering the ScheduleOrderError.

The error message that appears uses the application's default language (English), and is found to use the English resource bundle.
