Goal

This document describes how P6 Professional users in a P6 Professional or P6 EPPM environment with a shared server-based database can work "offline" - i.e. connect to a local database - to work on projects without being connected to the network/internet.  This process does not allow automatic syncing of data, but data can be moved between the local and server databases using the Import and Export processes available in the P6 Professional application.

If there is typically only one user making updates to a project or set of projects, or if multiple users are working on a project but they are working with unrelated data, working offline can be useful tool.

If multiple users regularly update the same data in the same projects, working offline will not be a valid option.
