ETL Process Hangs At Step 43, Part 1 with Error: "Checkpoint not complete" (Doc ID 2223454.1)

Symptoms

Issue:

When running the setup.sh (or setup.bat) to initiate STAR ETL process for Primavera Data Warehouse, the ETL process hangs at Step 43, Part 1 and does not complete ETL process for many hours.  When terminating the ETL process, receive the below error message:

  setup [ERROR] (Message) - The SQL script resource_assignment_spread.sql failed
  setup [ERROR] (Message) - The SQL script activity_spread.sql failed

 

DIAGNOSING STEPS TAKEN TO ROOT CAUSE THIS ISSUE

1. From Alert.log, noticed many error as following:

 

2.  From AWR report section "Active Session History (ASH) Report", we observed "log file switch(checkpoint incomplete)". See below detail:
