Symptoms

GLIBC_ library issue while installing NMS 2.3

We are running in to a little library versioning issue when the $CES_HOME/bin/config_nmsrc.pl script get to the point of updating the wallet for the weblogic information. It appears the nms_passwd program is checking library version for several programs.

Looking at the nms_passwd file it appears to have hard coded location for the /lib64/libc.co.6 file/link.

Below are the error messages from the nms_passwd program.

/u00/nms/nms/product/2.3.0.0/bin/nms_passwd: /lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /u00/nms/nms/product/2.3.0.0/bin/nms_passwd)

/u00/nms/nms/product/2.3.0.0/bin/nms_passwd: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by /u00/nms/nms/product/2.3.0.0/lib/libMv.so)

/u00/nms/nms/product/2.3.0.0/bin/nms_passwd: /lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /u00/nms/nms/product/2.3.0.0/lib/libCrew.so)
/u00/nms/nms/product/2.3.0.0/bin/nms_passwd: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by /u00/nms/nms/product/2.3.0.0/lib/libCrew.so)

In the opposite case where the NMS download for Linux 6 was installed on a Linux 7 server the following error occurred:

SwService: error while loading shared libraries: libicui18n.so.42: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
