One Time Charge Products Remains Active After It Got Charged

As per OOB, one time product is configured with validity to start Immediately and never ends. When purchasing the product, its status was "Not Set" in Customer Center, and the product got charged. However, when purchasing this product with a future date, the product status was "Active" and stayed active after it got charged.
Is there a way to configure product, or is customization required to change the one time product status as "Not Set" or "Inactive" once it has been charged to the account?
