Error 'Database Read Error: Please Check C:\PRBADDATA.TXT' or 'Cannot create file "C:\prbaddata.txt"' When Attempting to Launch P6 Connected to an SQLite Database (Doc ID 2226844.1)

When attempting to login to P6 Professional, connected to a standalone SQLite database, the application fails to start and one of the following errors occurs:

Database Read Error: Please Check C:\PRBADDATA.TXT


Exception EFCreateError in module PM.exe at 000000000012CE71.
Cannot create file "C:\prbaddata.txt". Access Denied

The file location (C:\prbaddata.txt), reported in the error, is not accurate.  Reference:  NOTE 2189841.1 - Can the Location for Errors and Event Codes That Result in "Cannot Create File C:\prbaddata.txt" Be Changed?

The following error is reported in the PRBADATA.TXT file:

Bad Data Row for table UDFVALUE
udf_type_id = 132
fk_id = 36478
proj_id = 368
udf_date = (null)
udf_number = 0.0
udf_text = (null)
udf_code_id = (null)

In addition, the Control Panel > Region and Language > Formats tab > Advanced Settings > Numbers tab > Decimal Symbol value is set to "," (comma).


This issue can be reproduced at will using the following steps:

  1. Attempt to login to P6 Professional, configured to connect to an SQLite database.
  2. Observe the reported error(s) in the P6 Professional client and the the prbaddata.txt file.
