Purpose
AutoVue 21.0.1 supports launching the viewing client through Java Web Start as a replacement for Applet technology. This allows AutoVue to be used with web browsers that no longer support the Java plug-in.
To support integrations with web applications, the AutoVue Client application provides an interface that can be accessed using AJAX technology in browsers. This interface provides equivalent functionality to the Live Connect API that was provided by the AutoVue Applet.
When working with https:// pages, web browsers implement additional restrictions on page contents such that AJAX calls must be made through secure channels. For AutoVue to support this environment, the client requires a server certificate in order to create this channel.
