Information in this document applies to any platform.

When a file with byte order mark is loaded as Validation/Supporting Document, and downloaded from LSH, the byte order mark (BOM) is removed.

Expect the Byte Order Mark is not removed when downloading LSH Validation Documents .

1. Created the UTF-8 BOM text file with a simple text like:
proc print data=sashelp.classfit;
title "this is a test";

2. Confirmed  it is UTF-8-BOM. You can do it via Notepad++:

3. 'Support Validation Info' is uploaded and downloaded it back via Public API and that is why they are not using web browser to reproduce it:

Thru public API, they have java code that must be converting the input file into a BLOB to upload the Validation doc. And when they download back thru the Public API, they again have code that outputs the BLOB as a file.
