Grounds are Appearing on the Wrong Side of the Grounded Device

Grounds are appearing on the wrong side of the grounded device.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
On a system where conductors are modeled such that when a switch is connected to two conductors, the diagrams for the two conductors appear to touch directly under the center of the switch diagram.
1. Place a ground on the upstream port of a switch where the diagrams for the conductors touch the middle of the switch's diagram.
2. Observe where the ground gets drawn.
3. Remove the ground.
4. Place a ground on the downstream port of the same switch.
5. Observe that the ground gets placed in the same location.
