imsconnutil -a Did Not Seem To Change The Date From The Last Access Of Imap Or Pop For A User (Doc ID 2234978.1)

Last updated on MAY 05, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The imsconnutil -a command is used to get daily reports of users. From these reports, users who did not connect via POP or IMAP in the last 120 days, are deleted.

This has always worked well, but last month a complaint was received from a user who was incorrectly deleted.  The iwc.log was reviewed and it was found that the user had logged into Webmail, but for some reason, imsconnutil -a did not change the dates of access for POP or IMAP.

What is puzzling is that during this time, we can see that the user received a message delivered to his mailbox (by viewing the mail.log_current log file).

Is there any explanation for this issue and if so, what can be done to prevent it from happening again?
