Error Encountered with IBSS Email Configuration For SMTP Protocol

Customer is configuring IBSS v5.0.1.HF24 running on Websphere 8.5.5 for email notification of batch job completion. Customer requires use of SMTP protocol (i.e. not SMTPS, no SSL) over port 25. When IBSS is configured accordingly via the Connector Services Properties dialog and the "Test Connector Properties" button is pressed, IBSS returns an "EMAIL:Error. Check general Event Log for more details" response. The IBSS Error Log contains the following error snippet:

SMTP - Messaging exception : Exception reading responsejavax.mail.MessagingException: Exception reading response; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Unrecognized SSL message, plaintext connection?

The complete IBSS Error Log event is attached to this SR.

Based upon the "Unrecognized SSL message" response from the SMTP server, it appears that IBSS is attempting an SSL handshake with the SMTP server, even though IBSS is configured to use the SMTP protocol option, not the SMTPS option. This same error is generated to the IBSS Error Log if the "Get Status" button is clicked on the IBSS-Nodes page, so the issue is not isolated to the just the "Test Connector Properties" button on the Connector Services Properties dialog.

This issue is preventing the customer from receiving email notification of batch job completion. The customer intends to go into production with Insbridge v5.0.1 on Feb. 24 and would like this issue resolved before then.
