The tmpdir Configuration Option In Option.dat Is Ignored In Legacy Configuration (Doc ID 2237776.1)

Last updated on JULY 17, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using legacy configuration mode, the following are set in option.dat (followed by imsimta cnbuild; imsimta reload; imsimta restart smtp):

tmpdir=/app/mail/msg70/quetmp/
max_internal_blocks=10

If we check the path we've set for the tmpdir, we see that it hasn't been written to in a long time:

mail-srv07:/app/mail/msg70/config$ ls -la /app/mail/msg70/quetmp/
total 4
drwxr-xr-x   2 imsadmin ims          512 Feb 13 16:17 .
drwxr-xr-x  19 imsadmin ims          512 Feb 13 16:17 ..

If we set os_debug=1mm_debug=5, enable slave_debug logging, and send a message, we can see that the directory we set is not acknowledged in the log, when os_disk_space_available is updated:

06:27:04.51: os_disk_space_available: At least 210953804 blocks available on /opt/sun/comms/messaging64/data/queue/
06:27:04.51: os_disk_space_available: At least 32290272 blocks available on /tmp/
