Web Server Database Connections Not Closing When Working in Funds Transfer Pricing

(Doc ID 2243259.1)

Last updated on MARCH 20, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Services Funds Transfer Pricing - Version 6.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA)

In Oracle Financial Services Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) 6.1.1, as users work to update Transfer Pricing Rules, Adjustment Rules, Prepayment Rules, etc., you see Web Server (Tomcat / Weblogic / Websphere) database connections are created but not closed.  You run the following command on the Oracle Database port number:

netstat -an | grep 1521

The number of connections continues to increase and is never cleared.  After a period of time, the maximum connections for the web server is reached and the user interface becomes unresponsive / hangs.  You expect OFSAA to close these connections after they are finished so the interface never reaches the maximum connections.
