Oracle iLearning - Version 6.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 6.1 version, Learner Administration

iLearning 6.1 - AICC/HACP lesson_location on first launch returns 0 instead of an empty string

When one launches a course that uses AICC/HACP tracking, the content calls GetParam and gets detail back from the LMS. One component of this is lesson_location.

Currently on initial launch, it returns lesson_location=0 which is based on an old version of the AICC CMI spec. More recent versions require it to send an empty string instead:

The CMI must always return the value provided from the previous AU session. The first time a student enters the AU, the value of Core.Lesson Location is an empty string ("").

Request that the player be updated to send this properly based on updated spec info .

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. AICC/HACP lesson_location on first launch returns 0 instead of an empty string

The issue has the following business impact:

Content that expects lesson_location= vs lesson_location=0 is not working properly, due to iLearning using an older spec version for AICC/HACP communication.
